Public consultation on the draft ECB Regulation on infringement procedures in cases of non-compliance with statistical reporting requirements and repealing Decision (ECB/2010/10)
Following the Decison adopted by the ECB on transparency in the development of ECB regulations on European Statistics on 14 October 2016, the Governing Council has approved a public consultation on a new draft ECB Regulation on statistics which imposes rights and obligations on reporting agents but does not define or require additional reporting requirements.
The new draft ECB Regulation refers to infringement procedures in cases of non-compliance with statistical reporting requirements and repeals Decision ECB/2010/10.
The draft ECB Regulation establishes a harmonised framework for monitoring compliance with statistical reporting requirements and assessing procedures for alleged infringements in cases of non-compliance to ensure transparency and the equal treatment of reporting agents. It also clearly defines the roles and responsibilities among competent authorities during the infringement procedures.
