Public consultation on the Eurosystem’s Appia project
This public consultation invited public and private sector stakeholders to provide feedback on the approach set out in the publication Appia – paving the way for a future-ready, integrated financial ecosystem leveraging tokenisation and DLT.
The ECB received feedback from 126 respondents, representing a diverse range of entities from across the financial services sector. The feedback conveyed widely constructive sentiment across stakeholder groups regarding the Appia roadmap and highlighted significant interest in contributing to the Appia programme implementation phase.
In accordance with the consultation guidelines, the Eurosystem plans to publish the responses received on the Appia roadmap in the second half of 2026. Expressions of interest from stakeholders wishing to contribute to future initiatives will also be evaluated at this time.
