Six-Month longer-term refinancing operation: increase in allotment amount

Today the Governing Council of the European Central Bank (ECB) decided to increase from EUR 25 billion to EUR 50 billion the allotment amount in the six-month supplementary longer-term refinancing operation that was pre-announced in the press release of 4 September 2008 and will be allotted on 8 October 2008. Accordingly, a maximum bid amount of EUR 5 billion will be applied in this operation.
