European Union Balance of Payments / International Investment Position statistical methods

The ECB has published today the ninth edition of the “European Union balance of payments/international investment position statistical methods” (“B.o.p. Book”). This publication documents the methodology and practices applied by European Union Member States for the compilation of balance of payments and international investment position statistics, and thus improves the transparency of the external statistics of the euro area. The B.o.p. Book incorporates some changes to the methodological part and to the country chapters, reflecting ongoing improvements in the compilation systems for these statistics.
