Publication of the second edition of "The monetary policy of the ECB"

The European Central Bank (ECB) has today published the second edition of the publication entitled “The monetary policy of the ECB”. This publication aims to provide the public with a comprehensive overview of the ECB’s monetary policy and its economic and institutional background.

The second edition mirrors the structure of the first one. After presenting the main institutional aspects relating to the ECB’s monetary policy, it provides an (updated) overview of the economic and financial structure of the euro area. The book then presents the ECB’s monetary policy strategy and the Eurosystem’s operational framework for monetary policy. A final section looks at the ECB’s experience with actual policy-making in the first years of the single monetary policy.
