The Governing Council of the ECB sets the key interest rates for the euro area- deposit facility, main refinancing operations, marginal lending facility.

These data refer to minimum reserve requirements and liquidity conditions in the euro area, i.e. the Eurosystem’s supply of liquidity in euro, and credit institutions’ demand for this liquidity. These statistics may be of use to treasurers, money market analysts and researchers.

The Eurosystem balance sheet comprises the assets and liabilities of euro area NCBs and the ECB. It is published on a weekly basis (consolidated financial statement) and on an annual basis (consolidated balance sheet).

We use open market operations to steer interest rates, to manage the amount of liquidity in the financial system and to signal our monetary policy stance. Our regular open market operations consist of one-week liquidity-providing operations in euro (main refinancing operations, or MROs) and three-month liquidity-providing operations in euro (longer-term refinancing operations, or LTROs).

They cover: data on outstanding amounts (stocks) of euro banknotes and coins in circulation, transactions data (flows) on the banknotes and coins issued into circulation, returned from circulation, sorted to check authenticity & fitness and sorted to unfit during the reporting period the number of NCBs/commercial banks branches providing cash in the euro area the value of euro collector coins not intended for circulation issued by the euro area countries.
