Summary of ad hoc communication

As communicated by the ECB, participants in the third series of TLTROs (TLTRO III) shall have the option of repaying early, in full or in part, the amounts borrowed. Participants to the TLTRO III operations 7 to 10 (tenders 20210034, 20210078, 20210119 and 20210155), who wish to make use of the early repayment option on 20 December 2023 (settlement date of the early repayment), shall notify the relevant National Central Bank (NCBs) by 6 December 2023 at 17.00 CE(S)T, at the latest, regarding the amounts they intend to repay on the settlement date. Early repayment amounts become binding upon notification to the NCBs. Participants shall provide notification of the repayment amount according to the operational procedures established by the relevant NCB. The total repayment amount per TLTRO operation will be publicly announced on 8 December 2023 by 12.05 CE(S)T.

As communicated in the press release of 15 September 2023 on the publication of the indicative operational calendars for 2024, the announcement, allotment and settlement dates of three-month longer-term refinancing operations (LTROs) will be aligned with those of main refinancing operations (MROs) starting from January 2024. This is to facilitate the possibility for counterparties to switch between the two operations. Consequently, maturity dates of the October, November and December 2023 LTROs will be brought forward from Thursday to Wednesday to match the settlement dates of the January, February and March 2024 LTROs, respectively. These dates are 31 January 2024, 28 February 2024 and 27 March 2024. Furthermore, LTROs will also be conducted according to a new time frame starting from January 2024 in order to avoid an overlap between the LTROs and MROs. This new time frame for LTROs postpones the regular times for tender announcement, deadline for counterparties’ submission of bids and announcement of tender results to 15:55 CET, 10:00 CET and 12:00 CET, respectively.

Accordingly, on 27 September 2023 a total of EUR 34230.57 million will be repaid. This amount corresponds to repayments of EUR 3921.8 million by 18 counterparties in tender 20200248, EUR 23146.37 million by 35 counterparties in tender 20210034, EUR 5585.64 million by 18 counterparties in tender 20210078, EUR 921.74 million by 10 counterparties in tender 20210119, and EUR 655.02 million by 6 counterparties in tender 20210155.

Early repayment amounts become binding upon notification to the NCBs. Participants shall provide notification of the repayment amount according to the operational procedures established by the relevant NCB. The total repayment amount per TLTRO operation will be publicly announced on 15 September 2023 by 12.05 CE(S)T.

Accordingly, on 28 June 2023 a total of EUR 29460.01 million will be repaid. This amount corresponds to repayments of EUR 17069.14 million by 34 counterparties in tender 20200207, EUR 4342.98 million by 14 counterparties in tender 20200248, EUR 3524.53 million by 20 counterparties in tender 20210034, EUR 3446.00 million by 10 counterparties in tender 20210078, EUR 267.36 million by 8 counterparties in tender 20210119, and EUR 810.00 million by 7 counterparties in tender 20210155.

Early repayment amounts become binding upon notification to the NCBs. Participants shall provide notification of the repayment amount according to the operational procedures established by the relevant NCB. The total repayment amount per TLTRO operation will be publicly announced on 16 June 2023 by 12.05 CE(S)T.
