Data Point Model (DPM) Alliance
The Data Point Model (DPM) is a data-centric methodology that is recognised as an ISO standard. It was originally developed and used by the European Banking Authority (EBA) but was also adopted by the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA). In 2023 the EBA and EIOPA published DPM 2.0, an enhanced version of the DPM. Its metamodel is a structured framework that provides a common layer for defining and standardising data requirements for regulatory reporting. This ensures consistency and clarity of authorities’ information requirements.
The DPM Alliance is a joint governance framework for collaboration on developing, adopting and promoting the DPM. The Alliance was established in March 2024 under a Memorandum of Understanding signed by the European Central Bank (ECB), the EBA and EIOPA.
The Alliance is committed to organising training, workshops and knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance the understanding and adoption of the DPM Standard.
To this end, naming conventions for use under the DPM Standard were published in August 2026. A public consultation on proposed updates to the DPM metamodel was launched in July 2026.
