Agnès Bénassy-Quéré

Biography

Agnès Bénassy-Quéré is an Associate Researcher at the École d’économie de Paris, a Professor at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and the Chair of the French Council of Economic Analysis. She is also a Member of the Commission économique de la Nation (an advisory body to the Finance Minister), the Haut Conseil de stabilité financière (the French macroprudential authority) and the Cercle des économistes, and is affiliated with CESifo.

She holds a PhD in economics from Université Paris-Dauphine. After gaining her PhD, she worked for the French Ministry for the Economy and Finance, before moving to academic positions at Université de Cergy-Pontoise, Université de Lille 2 Droit et Santé, Université Paris Nanterre and École Polytechnique. She also served as Deputy Director and Director of CEPII, a French research centre for international economics; as a columnist at “France Culture” and as a member of the ECB Shadow Council, a panel of independent European economists unaffiliated with the ECB.

Professor Bénassy-Quéré’s main research interests are the international monetary system and European macroeconomic policy.
