New presentation of euro area statistics on the IMF’s Dissemination Standards Bulletin Board
As of 9 November 2006, users of euro area statistics will have access to a comprehensive description of data and compilation methods – also known as metadata – on the Dissemination Standards Bulletin Board (DSBB) of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
This new euro area page on the DSBB (http://dsbb.imf.org/Applications/web/euronote/) provides information on the euro area’s statistical practices for Special Data Dissemination Standard (SDDS) data categories. From this page, a hyperlink leads to the statistics included in the National Summary Data Page. The National Summary Data Page is maintained by the European Central Bank (ECB), in cooperation with the Statistical Office of the European Communities (Eurostat).
With the assistance of the IMF, the ECB and Eurostat have prepared comprehensive descriptions of euro area statistics. These metadata are now displayed on a euro area page that also provides access to an advance release calendar, to euro area statistics for relevant SDDS data categories, and to the websites of the ECB (http://www.ecb.europa.eu) and Eurostat (http://epp.eurostat.ec.europa.eu) for more statistics and metadata on related domains.
