High-level Panel on the International Role of the Euro
Monday, 22 June 2026
House of the Euro, Brussels
Hybrid event
Strengthening the international role of the euro is a long-standing policy priority of the European Union. In view of recent geopolitical fragmentation, strategic competition and the reshaping of global economic relations, there is now an opening to further enhance the international role of the euro. This high-level panel discussion brings together the European Central Bank, the European Commission and the European Parliament to explore the benefits of the euro playing a stronger international role, against a backdrop of structural changes in the international monetary system and beyond.
