Publication of a study related to the euro equity market

In the context of the regular monitoring activities of the European System of Central Banks, experts from the European Central Bank (ECB) and the national central banks of the European Union carried out an analysis of developments that have occurred in 2000 in the money, bond and equity markets of the euro area. This analysis followed up on similar studies that were performed for money and bond markets in the second half of 1999, the results of which were published in the report "The Impact of the Euro on Money and Bond Markets" (July 2000).

The results of the study on the euro equity market that was conducted in 2000 are published today in a report entitled "The Euro Equity Market". This report is the last part of a triptych, of which the first two parts entitled "The Euro Money Market" and "The Euro Bond Market" were published on 20 July 2001.
