Terms of use for the image of future euro banknote design proposals

The images depicting design proposals for a possible future euro banknote series do not depict issued euro banknotes and must not be presented as final or approved future designs.

The images are protected by intellectual property rights and are made available for information, editorial, educational and news-reporting purposes only.

Unless expressly authorised in writing by the European Central Bank, the images may not be:

• used for commercial, advertising, promotional or merchandising purposes, including on clothing, products, packaging or other goods or services;
• altered, adapted, incorporated into other designs or used to create derivative works;
• used in a manner suggesting endorsement, sponsorship or association by the European Central Bank or the Eurosystem;
• used in a misleading, deceptive, unlawful or offensive context;
• used in any manner that may adversely affect the reputation, interests or rights of the European Central Bank or the Eurosystem.

Any permitted use must reproduce the images accurately, clearly identify them as design proposals and acknowledge the European Central Bank as the source.

No intellectual property rights are transferred. Any use not expressly permitted above requires the prior written authorisation of the European Central Bank.

These conditions are without prejudice to uses permitted under applicable law.
