ESCB/IO

The ESCB/IO contracts (European System of Central Banks and International Organisations) are short-term assignments which are open exclusively to staff from:

  • the 27 national central banks of the ESCB
  • European public institutions and agencies
  • international public institutions (e.g. IMF, BIS, EBRD)

Positions of this type are offered at the following levels:

  • higher professional (Principal Expert assignments)
  • professional (Expert assignments)
  • support (Assistant).

Depending on the needs of the recruiting division, we look for specific expertise and skills. The positions cover the full range of functions.

Tasks to be performed

Candidates recruited for ESCB/IO assignments perform the same work as the division’s usual staff members.

Contract

Selected candidates are seconded to the ECB by their current employer. The assignment will be based on a short-term ECB contract for a period of 3 to 36 months (including extensions).

Who can apply?

Staff members of either of the aforementioned institutions can apply for an ESCB/IO assignment. In addition, you will need to have a contract of employment with the home institution for a period of at least one year beyond the duration of the ECB contract being offered.
