Conference on Expectations Surveys 2026 – Call for papers
Expectations Measurement in Advanced and Emerging Economies
Seventh joint Bank of Canada, European Central Bank, and Federal Reserve Bank of New York conference, in partnership with the Bank of Mexico
Friday, 13 and Saturday, 14 November 2026
Mexico City
Over the past fifteen years, central banks have made significant advances in the collection and analysis of subjective expectations data. Such data have proved highly valuable for conducting monetary policy, economic forecasting and economic research. While much of this work has focused on advanced economies, important efforts are increasingly underway in emerging economies.
The Bank of Canada, the European Central Bank, and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, in partnership with the Bank of Mexico, are inviting submissions to the seventh joint conference on expectations surveys. Building on the success of six previous editions held since 2019, the aim of the conference is to bring together scholars to present and discuss their current research involving expectations surveys, emphasizing possible lessons that emerging economies could learn from the experiences of those pioneering in this matter.
The conference program will feature a keynote address by Charles Manski, Northwestern University.
The event welcomes academics and researchers in the fields of economics, finance, and related disciplines. The event is in-person and attendance is by invitation-only. All presenters are expected to attend the entire conference.
