The Eurosystem is preparing for the potential issuance of a digital euro to complement physical cash.
The Governing Council kept ECB interest rates unchanged, citing the broadly stable outlook. Members stressed their firm commitment to ensuring inflation stabilised at the 2% target in the medium term and noted their decision kept them well positioned to navigate current high uncertainties.
