When and where will the 2022 ECB Forum on Central Banking take place?

This year’s Forum will take place from 27 to 29 June 2022 in Sintra, Portugal.

What will be the format of the 2022 ECB Forum on Central Banking?

It will be a hybrid event, enabling participants to attend either physically in Sintra or virtually via a dedicated online platform.

As always, the entire event will be broadcast live.

Who can participate?

Participation in the Forum is by invitation only and is limited to central bank officials, academics, senior economists and selected media. Owing to space constraints, the number of in-person participants is restricted.

What are the COVID-19 rules?

Please have a look at the measures for entry into Portugal. You will be notified of the measures for entry into the event itself in good time.

Is there a fee to participate?

In line with the ECB’s policy, and in order to cover some of the costs associated with the Forum, there is a participation fee of €1,000. If you have any queries about the fee, please send an email to info@ecbforum.eu.

I am a journalist interested in attending/reporting on the Forum. How can I register?

Owing to space constraints, in-person participation in the Forum is by invitation only. A limited number of journalists are invited to the Forum as participants and other accredited journalists will have the opportunity to follow the Forum at the media centre close to the Forum venue.

Journalists can also tune in to the live webcast of the event.

Will the Forum be webcast?

The Forum will be broadcast live on the ECB’s website.

Can I share information about the Forum on my own social media accounts?

All presentations, papers and discussions that are part of the official Forum programme are on the record. Participants and interested parties are encouraged to share information about the Forum on their own social media accounts and promote the ECB’s social media posts about the event using the hashtag #ECBForum.

Will the papers discussed during the Forum be published?

Yes. The papers discussed during the Forum will be published on the ECB’s website. Where possible, the ECB aims to publish the papers online shortly before the conference. Otherwise, they will be published during the event.
