Where is the ECB?

The ECB is located at three addresses in Frankfurt:

How to get to Sonnemannstrasse

From Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof (central railway station)

  • By S-Bahn (suburban train): take one of several lines to Ostendstrasse
    • S1 (direction Rödermark/Ober-Roden)
    • S2 (direction Dietzenbach)
    • S3 (direction Darmstadt)
    • S4 (direction Langen)
    • S5 and S6 (direction Frankfurt Süd)
    • S8 and S9 (direction Hanau Hauptbahnhof)
    • From there, it is a five-minute walk via Paul-Arnsberg-Platz to the main entrance.
  • By tram: take line No 11 to Ostbahnhof/Sonnemannstrasse. From there, it is a few minutes’ walk along Sonnemannstrasse to the main entrance.
  • By car (route 1): drive towards Hanau until you reach Lange Strasse, then turn right towards Hospital zum heiligen Geist. Follow the motorway signs to Anschluss Ost/Hanau. Turn left onto Sonnemannstrasse. Follow the road towards Zoo/Osthafen. Turn right into the visitors’ car park at the main entrance.
  • By car (route 2): drive towards the river and then head east along Mainkai (north bank of the river) until you reach Sonnemannstrasse. Turn right into the visitors’ car park at the main entrance.

From the A661 motorway

Take the exit Frankfurt Ost and drive towards Stadtmitte. Turn onto Hanauer Landstrasse and follow the road until you pass under the railway bridge. Bear left onto Sonnemannstrasse and turn left into the visitors’ car park at the main entrance.

From Frankfurt airport

  • By taxi: approximately 30 minutes.
  • By S-Bahn (suburban train): take the S8 or S9 (direction Hanau Hauptbahnhof) to Ostendstrasse. From there, it is a five-minute walk via Paul-Arnsberg-Platz to the main entrance.

Parking at Sonnemannstrasse

Some parking spaces for cars and minibuses are available next to the main entrance. There are also a few spaces for coaches at the far end of the car park. Ask your ECB contact for further information.

How to get to Kaiserstrasse and Taunustor

From Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof (central railway station)

  • By U-Bahn (underground): take the U4 (direction Seckbacher Landstraße) or the U5 (direction Preungesheim) to Willy-Brandt-Platz.
  • By tram: take line No 11 (direction Fechenheim) to Willy-Brandt-Platz.
  • By car: follow Düsseldorfer Strasse until you reach Mainzer Landstrasse and turn right towards Alte Oper. Turn right at Taunusanlage and follow signs to Sachsenhausen/Theater. After approximately 800 metres, turn left onto Kaiserstrasse. Then turn left onto Neue Mainzer Strasse and left again onto Taunustor.

From Frankfurt airport

  • By taxi: approximately 30 minutes.
  • By S-Bahn (suburban train): take the S8 or S9 (direction Hanau Hauptbahnhof) to Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof (central railway station). Then follow the instructions above.

Parking at city centre locations

Please note that on-site parking spaces cannot be guaranteed. Parking is only permitted for the duration of your visit to the ECB.

The ECB’s banking supervision activities are located in the city centre. Some parking spaces are available for business visitors coming by car, but there are no parking facilities for coaches. They can be parked at the central railway station (Hauptbahnhof) or at the Römer/Paulsplatz. Ask your ECB contact for further information.
