Council Recommendation of 15 April 2002 on the appointment of the Vice-President of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank (2002/287/EC) THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION, Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Community, and in particular Article 112(2)(b) and Article 122(4) thereof, and to Article 11.2 and Article 43.3 of the Protocol on the Statute of the European System of Central Banks and of the European Central Bank, HEREBY RECOMMENDS: That Lucas D. PAPADEMOS be appointed Vice-President of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank for a term of office of eight years with effect from 1 June 2002. This recommendation shall be submitted for decision to the Heads of State or Government of the Member States which have adopted the euro, after consulting the European Parliament and the Governing Council of the European Central Bank. This recommendation shall be published in the Official Journal of the European Communities. Done at Luxembourg, 15 April 2002. For the Council The President J. Piqué I Camps
