GUIDELINE OF THE EUROPEAN CENTRAL BANK

of 3 June 2014

amending Guideline ECB/2013/23 on government finance statistics

(ECB/2014/21)

THE EXECUTIVE BOARD OF THE EUROPEAN CENTRAL BANK,

Having regard to the Statute of the European System of Central Banks and of the European Central Bank, and in particular Article 5.1 and 5.2, and Articles 12.1 and 14.3 thereof,

Having regard to Council Regulation (EC) No 479/2009 of 25 May 2009 on the application of the Protocol on the excessive deficit procedure annexed to the Treaty establishing the European Community (1),

Having regard to Regulation (EU) No 549/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 May 2013 on the European system of national and regional accounts in the European Union (2),

Whereas:

Guideline ECB/2013/23 (3) needs to be amended to reflect the amendment, by Commission Regulation (EU) No 220/2014 (4), of Regulation (EC) No 479/2009 as regards references to the European system of national and regional accounts in the Union,

HAS ADOPTED THIS GUIDELINE:

Article 1

Amendment

Annexes I and II to Guideline ECB/2013/23 are replaced in accordance with the Annex to this Guideline.

Article 2

Taking effect

1.   This Guideline shall take effect on the date of its notification to the national central banks of the Member States whose currency is the euro.

2.   The Eurosystem central banks shall comply with this Guideline from 1 September 2014.

Article 3

Addressees

This Guideline is addressed to all Eurosystem central banks.
