Euro area statistics: challenges for the future

The European Central Bank will host a one-day conference on the subject of "Euro area statistics: challenges for the future" in Frankfurt on Monday, 3 June 2002.
The conference will provide an opportunity to review European statistics after 3½ years of Monetary Union and consider future developments.
Themes to be introduced by European and international speakers will include the assessment of future needs, quality assurance, the achievement of international comparability, and the challenge posed by the enlargement of the European Union and the euro area.
